Yesterday, I had once again the good surprise to see one of my paintings published online by Bizarre Magazine, after submitting it to their Your-Bizarre section – a place where fans and readers can try and share (if selected) the most Bizarre-ish aspects of their own lives (through art, modelling, creations or funny/creepy ideas).
I had four of my paintings published so far: Love will tear us apart (which has also been printed in the April 2014 issue of the magazine – see image above!), Voices screaming, Disorder and now one of my last ones, I’ve always wanted to.
Why submitting to Bizarre in particular? Because my personality and aesthetics fit perfectly well theirs. My works have always been motivated by a sense of weird and morbid, and the stories they tell are all horrible and deadly beautiful. Pretty is boring if not disturbing.
Hier, j’ai une fois de plus eu la bonne surprise de voir l’une de mes peintures publiée en ligne par Bizarre Magazine, après l’avoir envoyée à leur rubrique Your-Bizarre – partie dédiée aux créations et photos de fans et lecteurs montrant ce qu’il y a de Bizarre en eux.
Jusqu’ici, Bizarre Magazine a publié quatre de mes travaux: Love will tear us apart (qui a aussi été imprimée dans la version papier du mag en Avril 2014 – voir l’image ci-dessus!), Voices screaming, Disorder et maintenant l’une de mes deux dernières, I’ve always wanted to.
Pourquoi les soumettre au jugement de Bizarre en particulier ? Parce que ma personnalité et mon esthétique correspond tout à fait aux messages qu’ils véhiculent. Mon travail a toujours été motivé par un sens morbide et étrange, et les histoires qu’il raconte sont à la fois terribles et belles. Ce qui est joli sombre dans l’ennui quand il n’est pas perturbé…
